About the artist: To Basia, the paper dolls of yesteryear are beautiful and magical. An award winning portrait and figurative artist, Basia's passion was encouraged by her family. She still has the remainders of colored pencils her father used at the Art Institute of Chicago in the 1930's, and which she later used to color her own paper dolls. Today she adds a bit of color to each of her paper dolls using those same pencils just for their "magical properties."
