Subject: The Story
The inspiration for Flora by Gucci started with Frida Giannini, Gucci designer, rediscovering an iconic design of a silk scarf from the Gucci archives. Flora was first designed for Princess Grace of Monaco. The story is; Rodolfo Gucci invited her to select a gift. She suggested a scarf, but Rodolfo felt it was not special enough for his distinguished guest. He contacted the renowned illustrator Vittorio Accornero to design the most beautiful floral scarf imaginable. Accornero's creation was the Flora pattern. Tiger Lilies, heather, poppies, dragonflies and butterflies adorn this print. The original contained over 36 different colors.
The pattern is interpreted for the fragrance with bold graphics and is paired down to pure black and white for a striking effect. The fragrance itself is light and easy with a rich sensual side.
