Set your social calendar reminder to attend the Art Unites Spring exhibition at Gallery 800, set to run through the end of July. Located in the heart of the famed NoHo Arts District, Gallery 800 showcases guild members’ personal art in a series of shows throughout the year.
Enjoy music, refreshments and over 80 original pieces. A few of the 30 artists participating in the exhibition are: Evelyn Barbier, Set Designer on Bruce Almighty (2003) and Evan Almighty (2007); Arte Contreras, Art Director who has helped design several theme parks for Paramount Studios, Warner Brothers and SeaWorld in Asia and Dubai; Catherine Giesecke, Scenic Artist on The Young and the Restless; Patrick Janicke, 3D Illustrator on Date Night (2010) and Concept Designer on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009); Jay Johnson, Main Title Designer on Inglorious Basterds (2009), Kill Bill (2003) and Kill Bill 2 (2004); and Rhea Rebbe, Assistant Art Director on the television series, Hannah Montana.
During the day, these artists are leading design professionals, who through a combination of observation, passion and imagination, bring the writer's words and the director's vision to life in television and film. When not working everyday as integral creative members of the entertainment community, these ADG members contribute to the fine art scene with their personal artwork. Since Gallery 800’s opening last year, over 400 ADG members have shown their artwork in the ongoing exhibitions.
Representing Gallery 800 are Denis Olsen, Curator and ADG Board Member, and Special Projects Coordinator, Nicki La Rosa. Gallery 800’s mission is to promote the works of Local 800’s talented entertainment industry professionals, in an intimate venue, on a personal level.
